The car was built 1949 and exported to Australia. The distributors were P&R Williams of 268 Oxford Street, Woollara, Sydney. N.S W.
The car was bought on 24/8/1950 by a R. Scaife, who we think had it until 1976, but we have no record of it between these years, but presume it was kept by him. The person in Manly kept it for the next 27 years before Mr Barrie Gray of Cleveland, (near Brisbane), Queensland purchased it, kept it for approx a year, before doing a body off rebuild, including a bare metal respray. (We have these pictures also.)
We bought it from him 8/7/2005, and drove it back to Sydney, taking 3 days, as 50 miles an hour was our top speed. We used the car for the periods we were in Australia for the next 12 months but then decided to bring it back to the UK in 2006 as our visits were becoming less frequent. It arrived in September 2006. We now use it on a regular basis for days out, and also visit many MG rallies.
